so....

i'm just going to come out and say it. i heart stevie wonder with the biggest of hearts. again, yes, i know i was born in the wrong decade. damien and i listened to songs in the key of life on every road trip. "our" song is joy inside my tears (ridiculously fitting in retrospect). needless to say, stevie has a special place in my heart.

when i found out he was playing a sold out show at the garden on saturday night after not touring for 20 years, i couldn't get on ebay fast enough. and i'm happy, nay, ecstatic to say that i am now the proud owner of 2 great tickets to said sold out event.

stevie, YOU are the sunshine of my life!

i almost forgot!

it's been over a month since the wedding. i thought y'all might like to see some pictures from our fun weekend in Richmond, VA! i'll explain left to right, top to bottom...like you're reading a book.

1) that's me...in case you couldn't tell
2) jimmy, becca, shannon, alex on the bus to the rehearsal dinner. jimmy is inappropriately dressed because his luggage was lost, much to the chagrin of the other more sophisticated guests. they would soon get over it.
3) becca, rachel the bride, and shannon at the rehearsal dinner.
4) the wcc crew
5) me and jimmy taking "prom" pictures.
6) getting married under the hoppa...if i were a jew, i'd be able to spell that word.
7) the amazing centerpieces
8) pretty self explanitory
9) dancing the hora...oh the hora...the hora!

so there you have it...we laughed, we cried, it was better than cats.

somtimes, this is how i feel at work...

...and this is how i felt today. it was a mad house, dare i say jungle at work today. we had inmates come move us, (thanks state of nj for being concerned about our safety), people were scoping out their new digs, and our director was yelling at everyone to stay in their cubes because we wouldn't want to be around "those" people anyway. absolute chaos. i was trying to be helpful. my computer was being moved into my new office, that's right...cube to an office (it's only temporary), so i decided to move the antiquated desk to a new position in said office. so, i gently, very gently, picked up one corner to slide it to it's new position...bam! leg broke, computers falling, IT people screaming, and me feeling like a 5 year old who was just waiting for her parents to find out she's just cut her own hair in the closet. luckily it was old and everyone was glad to see it go. we got a new desk in the office pretty quickly and now i'm all set up.

thankfully, my chair is not a stool attached to my desk. that would be some sort of punishment.

jail house rock

it was just a regular weekend at the camden waterfront. i was working for the council at the WXPN XPoNential Music Festival. i wasn't super excited A) to be in camden and B) to have the "public face" on for a good 6 hours. i'll be perfectly honest and say that one whiff of "fair food" and i was instantly in a better mood! the weather was threatening rain and the humidity was a little high for my liking, which means above 20%.
as i approached our booth, i stopped to take a look at the line-up for the evening. tower of power. wait. what?!? tower of freakin power. i L-O-V-E these guys. love them. can it get any better than that? yes. add some fried oreos and call it a beautiful night!

and yes, i'm aware that i was born in the wrong decade.

paris, eat your heart out

reasons to get arrested:

dui
theft
drug possesion
domestic violence
unpaid parking tickets

i have paid my debt to society for one unpaid parking ticket. aren't you glad i spent a night off the streets. i'm sure your children slept soundly for that 90 minutes. yes, there were handcuffs involved. yes, the back seat of the patrol car was in desperate need of a lysol wipe. or two. yes, i was attached by my right wrist to a "booking table" for fear i might flee. yes, the only thing i could do was laugh. hysterically.

$60 later, i'm a free woman. god bless the judicial system for having mercy on my soul.
